About Chinwe Okwuonu

Chinwe is a seasoned professional with a myriad of experiences which cuts across Corporate Legal practice, Corporate Administration, Regulatory and compliance, social development, Enterprise Risk Management and about 14 years’ experience in Healthcare Insurance.

She holds an LLB from Abia State University Uturu, a BL from the Nigerian Law School in 2004, an LLM, where she majored in Environmental Law & Policy, International Human Rights Law and Civil Litigation/procedure, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA). She has a Diploma (DCIIN) in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitration United Kingdom. In addition to a number of other professional certifications, she has various trainings and competence in Healthcare Insurance products rating and actuarial frameworks. She is an Associate member of institute for Healthcare Finance & Management (IHFM), Risk Management Association of Nigeria (RIMAN), and Institute of Managed Health care Practitioners of Nigeria.

Before joining Venus Medicare Limited as Regional Head where she oversees operations in four states: Enugu, Abia, Imo and Ebonyi States, She had worked in various roles and capacities within the healthcare insurance/managed care departments. Chinwe was the Head of Risk Management & Underwriting for ProHealth HMO Limited, where she made an indelible mark of an excellent record of maintaining low loss ratios as well as effectively attaining customer/enrollee satisfaction simultaneously. She has attained a reputation for excellence in leadership over the years.
