Our Management Team

Dr. Mohammed H. Aminu holds Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Maiduguri in 1989, as well as Masters in Business Administration (MBA). He has spent a great part of his working carrier in the health Insurance Industry, which climaxed as the pioneer MD/CEO of Venus Medicare Ltd-HMO (Formerly Zenith Medicare Ltd.).

Dr Aminu was one time, a member of the Senior Management Committee of the Nigerian National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), where he rose to the level of Asst. General Manager. He has extensive experience in the management of health programmes, in addition to long standing clinical experience. He is an alumnus of the prestigious Harvard School of Public Health, USA, where he received tutelage on Healthcare financing, and improving the quality of health services.

Dr. Chidi is a product of the University of Benin medical school. He brings into the management team of Venus Medicare Ltd the wealth of experience he has acquired over the years from work in various hospitals, the Managed Care and Health care management industry. He holds a Masters degree in Public Health (MPH) and a certification in Health Economics from the World Bank Institute, USA. He is also a Fellow of the Institute for Health Insurance and Managed Care of Nigeria (FIHIMN).

He was the South-South Regional Manager for Multishields Ltd, HMO (one of the pioneer HMOs in the country). He pioneered establishment of Regional operations for Venus Medicare in the South South Zone as Regional Head (South South) where he succeeded in growing the region to great heights. He is currently overseeing Operations and Quality Assurance for the company. He has attended several courses on Managed Health Care, Health Care Financing and Quality Assurance. He has a passion for deepening the operations of the health insurance industry in Nigeria as well as for Public Health.

Chidi Obegolu-Umeoji is a graduate of University of Port-Harcourt and currently heads business development. She has an MBA from the University of Liverpool, and she is currently training on Public Health at the University of Michigan. Her dynamism has been a propelling force in Venus Medicare’s Business Development drive through innovative business strategies, unparalleled client relationship management, brand and service development etc. She believes, and lives out the credo that, "success, whether personal or professional is a continuous process which one should never give up on".

Pharm Amaka is a product of the University of Nigeria Nsukka Pharmacy School. She is currently training on Public Health at the University of South Wales and holds certification in project management and M & E in global health from the University of Washington USA. She is a member of the Pharmaceutical society of Nigeria, the Nigerian institute of management and also a Fellow of the Institute for Health Insurance and Managed Care of Nigeria (FIHIMN). She has worked in various pharmaceutical industries and has acquired vast clinical experience from community practice.

She has attended several courses on health insurance and healthcare management both within and outside the country. She joined Venus Medicare Limited 13 years ago as an Operations and Quality assurance staff and currently overseeing the North Central region which comprises of Kogi, Benue, Plateau, Nasarawa, Niger, Kaduna and FCT.

Mr. Ayozie is a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Cost Management of Nigeria as well as a Graduate Member of Nigeria Institute of Management of Nigeria. He had an MBA (Financial Management Option) and recently became a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE, USA) and certified Forensic Accountant (CFA). He has worked in various levels as Accountant and Ag Administrative Manager in a reputable pharmaceutical company and Head of Internal Control & Audit Unit. He was responsible for the setting up of the Internal Control and Audit Unit of the company and has continued to manage its evolution into a competent unit to provide the critical support and control measures for the company’s growth and sustained profitability. He has participated in many courses on Accounting, Taxation, Auditing and management. He is now deploying this diverse skills and experience on the management team of Venus Medicare Ltd.

Recently he was reassigned to head the Finance and Account departments of Venus Medicare Limited.

Dr. Azubike is a management physician with vast managerial experience in the delivery of managed care services both in the public and private sectors. He has worked in several reputable Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO) with experience spanning over a decade. A graduate of Medicine and Surgery and currently undertaking a Master’s program in Public Health (MPH) at the University of Benin.

He holds certifications in Project Management, Conflict Resolution and Corporate Governance with extensive clinical and Health management experience. Before joining Venus Medicare Limited where he currently oversees the Lagos region, Dr. Azubike worked as the Zonal Manager at Marina Medical Services HMO Ltd (South-South/South-West) and the Regional Head (South) Hygeia HMO.

He is a fellow of the INSTITUTE FOR HEALTH INSURANCE AND MANAGED CARE of Nigeria (IHIMN), He has attended several courses on Management in Health Care, Quality Assurance, Health Care Financing and Management, Business Development and Retention. He possesses a sound knowledge of healthcare policies both locally and internationally.

Dr. Azubike is a member of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and Nigeria Medical Association.

Dr. Marafa is a Medical Graduate of University of Maiduguri. He has worked at various humanitarian and medical services outlets; from Grimard Catholic Hospital, Ayigba, Kogi State to other FCTA hospitals; attended several courses on HIV prevention in Nigeria at the Hokkaido University, Saporo, Japan. He is a pioneer member of Community Life Advancement Project (CLAP), an NGO working to promote Health care and create wealth among Nigerians. Dr Marafa was the immediate past Chairman of Kuje General Hospital, Abuja.

Dr. Chimezie is a Medicine and Surgery graduate from the renowned College of Medicine, University of Nigeria (UNTH) Enugu. He has vast clinical and administrative experience in several health institutions in the country ranging from early days at the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital, Enugu, National Assembly clinic Abuja, and Critical Rescue International, Abuja before joining Venus Medicare Limited in 2011.

He has also participated in several courses/conferences in managed care as well as in financial management with certifications in Basic Life Support, Basic Accounting and Financial Analysis, and Essential Selling and Marketing Skills. Dr. Chimezie’s deployment to lead the Enugu regional team was mainly due to his excellent professional services in the Operations and quality assurance department at the Head office where he had distinguished himself in the past seven years. He is a member of the Institute of Health Insurance and Managed Care of Nigeria.

Dr. Emeka is an aluminus of University of Port Harcourt Medical School. He also holds a second class honours (upper division) in Human Anatomy from the same school. He is almost concluding his programme at the University of Nigeria for the award of Masters degree in Public health. He is a graduate member of Nigeria Institute of Management and holds a proficiency Certificate in Management.

He worked in several hospitals before joining Venus Medicare. He was an Operations and Quality Assurance officer in Venus Medicare’s Enugu Region for about 4 yrs before his re-assignment as Regional Head, Awka at the Awka regional office which oversees Anambra, Edo and Delta States.

Hamza has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Bayero University, Kano. (BUK). He also holds an MBA with Specialization in Finance and Investment from the same University.

He has over 7 years working experience in Business Development / Customer Service and worked in the Marketing Department of the Karu Area Planning and Development Authority, Nasarawa State before joining Venus Medicare Ltd. He worked briefly at the Venus Medicare Head office as a Business Development officer before his deployment to Kano as pioneer Regional Head where he was responsible for setting up the North West regional operations for the company covering Katsina, Kebbi, Jigawa, Sokoto and Zamfara States.

He has also attended several courses and seminars on Managed Care and Health Insurance dynamics.

Olatayo Dolapo Talabi is a seasoned underwriter with over 14years experience in Insurance Underwriting and Health Management Services. She holds BSc. Insurance (Second Class Upper) and just concluded a Masters of Risk Management, where she bagged a distinction, both from the Prestigious University of Lagos. She is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria.

She worked with Zenith General Insurance for over a decade before been seconded to Venus Medicare Limited. She is also a loving wife and Mother.
